Within eight years of being an 'influencer'
Lately I have been reflecting on how crazy it is that I have been online for so. many. years. There are too many photos of me on the Internet, especially since Tumblr is how I got my start, and I have successfully filed them away into a folder on my laptop. However, for your own enjoyment and my own embarrassment, we are going to reflect on a couple of those images now and dissect how my style has ever evolved, from a teenager to now being 27 years old.
At 14 years old, I was completely Tumblr-obsessed and in the height of American Apparel, punky and preppy style, with “pale blogs” being the zenith of style and sophistication. If anyone remembers the term pale blog please let me know, it would make me feel very seen in my niche Tumblr brain. I was working retail since a wee teenager and would use almost all of my paycheck to fund my closet which, at that time, was filled with Dr. Martens, American Apparel jean shorts, and military jackets. I loved studs, knee socks, and anything that would make me look edgy and slightly cool. This was also the height of Givenchy, Comme Des Garcons, and Brandy Melville was slowly trickling in.
